I loved From Blood and Ash, but A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire took the series to a whole new level.Īgain this book just like From Blood and Ash ended on such a cliffhanger! Why must JLA do this to me.Suddenly, I thought of all those girlish fantasies I’d had before I learned who I was and what was expected of me-daydreams given life because of the love my parents had for one another. This story is completely addictive, filled with vampires, werewolves, sleeping gods and so much more. “I’m Poppy and you’re Casteel, and this is real.” In this book we get to see more of who Casteel really is and not just the many masks he wears. I love how even though he’s protective over Poppy he also lets her have room to defend herself.
Despite all the lies and betrayals, he is still just as charming maybe a little more vulnerable. She is fierce, I love her so much.Ĭasteel, how can you not fall in love with this man. I love there Banter! She used to be self conscious of her scars but now she stands tall and confident. She is constantly curious, asking questions even though it annoys Kieran. She goes through so much character development in this book, after a life of having no choices and forced to being quiet she is no longer scared to speak her mind. Poppy has got to be one of my all time favourite MCs. “He was both the villain and the hero, the monster and the monster-slayer.” Poppy is rightfully hurt and angry, to discover of Hawke’s betrayal. Hawke who is actually Casteel, the dark one, has Poppy among his men and planning to take her to Atlanta. With the wildest marriage proposal ever! Everything Poppy thought she knew turned out to be a lie, including the man she was falling in love with. This book picked up right where From Blood and Ash finished. And this is why I i hate reading series as they’re published, because now I need to wait and I need to have book three now! “He was the first thing I’d ever truly chosen for myself.”Ī Kingdom of Flesh and Fire was an epic continuation of the From Blood and Ash series.
I just wanted to give everyone a fair warning going into this review. I titled this as a spoiler review, because to explain the plot of the sequel it may spoil the first book, From Blood and Ash.
